DEPOSITS: Spain, Mexico.
MINEROLAGY: It is generally formed by solutions of sulfuric acid that act on rocks rich in feldspar, in some places have formed large masses of this mineral. It is found in small quantities near volcanic craters.
MYTHOLOGY AND TRIVIA: Pliny the writer and Roman naturalist, was the first to document the use of Aumen Romanum; in his book "Naturalis Historia". The Greek Dioscorides also describes alum mineral in his extensive work "De Materia Médica" .
