Morganite, also known as pink beryl, is a gemstone that was discovered in Madagascar in 1910. Named in honor of the famous banker and collector J.P. Morgan, morganite has captured attention with its delicate and beautiful pink color.
This pink tone can vary from soft pastel shades to more vibrant and deep colors, mainly due to the presence of manganese in its composition.
The main deposits of morganite are found in Brazil, Madagascar, Mozambique, and the United States.
This gemstone shares the same crystal structure as other varieties of beryl, such as emerald and aquamarine, and has a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, making it quite durable and suitable for use in jewelry.
Approximate measurements: 1.7 cm x 1.7 cm x 1.7 cm.
