Jasper is a precious stone that belongs to the group of microcrystalline quartz or chalcedony. It has a smooth surface and is used for ornaments or jewelry. Its color can vary from red to black, passing through green, yellow and brown. Jasper is formed by the deposition of silica in spaces of volcanic or igneous rock.
