MINEROLOGY: Smoky Quartz is a type of silicon or macrocrystalline quartz dioxide is formed in pegmatites or hydrothermally in drusen or cracks, this characteristic color occurs when rock crystal quartz is exposed to natural radiation from the elements ( aluminum and lithium) appearing in composition.


MYTHOLOGY: In the Alpine countries the smoky quartz is considered a protective stone against evil, why this mineral crosses were carved, the soldiers wore as a charm during the war.
