Danburite


ETYMOLOGY: It owes this name to the first site in the town of Danbury (Connecticut) in USA.

CRYSTAL SYSTEM: Rhombic.

PRINCIPLE OF FORMATION: Primary.

CLASS MINERAL: Silicates.

MINERAL ELEMENTS CHEMICAL FORMULACa [B2Si2O8].

HARDNESS: 7 - 7,5 on the Mohs scale.

FIELDS: Brazil, England (Cornwall), France (Pyrenees), Mexico (Baja California), Russia (Urals), Sri Lanka, Tanzania, USA (Danbury).

 

MINERALOGY: The elongated prismatic crystal, isolated, fine and very transparent, similar to a topaz habit is transformed into limestone and hydrothermal veins of low temperature. The crystals are normally milky but is also colorless crystals with pink or yellow tones.


MYTHOLOGY: Danburite was first described by Charles Upham Shepard mineralogist in 1839 in Danbury, Connecticut USA.


PROPERTIES: It is said that Danburite helps you forget the behavior patterns to be limiting, is a highly spiritual stone with a very pure vibration, working on the energy of the heart, it gives you confidence.
