ETYMOLOGY: It comes from the Greek "diopteuein" which means "see inside" for its transparency.

CRYSTAL SYSTEM: Trigonal.

PRINCIPLE OF FORMATION: Secondary.

CLASS MINERAL: Ciclosilicatos.

HARDNESS: 5 on the Mohs scale.

FIELDS: Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Russia, Namibia, Chile, Peru.

 

MINERALOGY: The dioptase is secondarily formed from silicic acid solutions containing copper, in crevices of limestone and sandstone or in the oxidation zone of copper deposits, it occurs in well-formed character and prismatic crystals rhombohedral terminated, also in crystalline masses or mass earthy look.


MYTHOLOGY: In the ancient times related to Venus and represented the sense of beauty, also known as emerald copper dioptase is considered the stone of abundance and wealth.


PROPERTIES: Stimulates the imaginative power, brings creativity, is a great cleansing and detoxifying mind, is said to be very effective in curing heartache caused by the feeling of abandonment. Dioptase makes us conscious of the inner wealth itself, helping to properly illuminate one's own abilities.
