ETYMOLOGY: Phenakos the Greek meaning "impostor", referring to its similarity with quartz.

MINERALOGY: The fenacita is a nesosilicato anhydrous is a mineral of the class of nesosilicatos, and within this belongs to the so-called "group fenaquita" usually colorless. The luster crystal structure is not clear the system to belonging to some authors is the rhombohedral type trigonal crystal system, while for others it is the hexagonal crystal system.
