Agate is not a specific mineral, but rather a group of microcrystalline varieties of quartz (silica). Actually, they are varieties of chalcedony that have bands of various colors that do not contrast well.
The difference in colors appears because in each zone the structure and the number of inclusions in the chalcedony varies, with which its properties change.
Approximate size: 7 x 4.5 cm.
