MINERALOGY: Found mainly in granitic rocks, especially in pegmatites; Pure beryllium is usually colorless when light rusty iron impurities are present in the crystal lattice, a yellow color is imparted as the case of this mineral, hexagonal crystals of beryl may be very small or reach a size of several meters.
