MINERALOGY: In post volcanic hydrothermal origin, appears as tonsils in basalts, is a phyllosilicate of calcium, aluminum and hidratado.Suele not be associated with other minerals such as zeolites, apofilita, prehnite, calcite, quartz and chalcedony.
MYTHOLOGY: It was discovered in 1828 on Disko island province Kitaa (Greenland), being named in honor of Lorenz Oken, a German naturalist. Synonyms are underused: bordita or disclasita.
