ETYMOLOGY: For its glow like the moon shine.

HARDNESS: 6-6.5 on the Mohs scale.
FIELDS: India, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Burma.
MINERALOGY: A feldspar (adularia) whose lamellar structure light is refracted, is a glow moving through the stone surface, produced by the interference of the light reflected by the submicroscopic intergrowths of orthoclase and albite.
MYTHOLOGY:Very famous in Roman, when it was believed that its interior was composed of moonbeams.
