ETYMOLOGY: Possibly from a deposit located on the island Zebirget  in the Red Sea (Formerly called Topazos).

CRYSTAL SYSTEM: Orthorhombic.

PRINCIPLE OF FORMATION: Primary.

CLASS MINERAL: Silicates.

CHEMICAL FORMULA, MINERAL ELEMENTS: Al2 [(F, OH) 2 SiO 4].
 
HARDNESS: 8 on the Mohs scale.

FIELDS: Brazil, Afghanistan, Czech Republic, Brazil, Saxony, Norway, Sweden, Japan, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Burma, Pakistan.

 
 

MINERALOGY: Always present in pegmatite or secondary deposits placer (alluvial material, eluvial and colluvial containing amounts of economic interest of a valuable mineral). neumatolíticos is formed by processes in the formation of acid plutonitas and, less frequently, in the formation of volcanics. The most common color is yellow topaz with a reddish cast, chromium is the element that gives the tone and the most appreciated ranging from pink to reddish orange, blue topaz is due to iron and manganese it gives you a brown hue.

 

MYTHOLOGY: In 1964 several blue topaz 100 kg each were found in Ukraine. The Smithsonia Institution of Washington (USA). It has carved topaz of several thousand carats each. In the ancient cultures of Europe and India the topaz was considered the stone of Jupiter. It represents mastery over our own life, self-realization and wisdom.
