How do I clean and take care of my crystals?

Cleaning depends on the stone: most polished minerals (quartz, amethyst, etc.) can be wiped with a soft cloth and lukewarm water, but soft or porous stones (opal, turquoise, amber) should avoid water and heat. Store pieces separately to prevent harder stones from scratching softer ones, and keep them out of direct sunlight for long periods.
